Jammu Live News Updates: The centre convened an all-party meeting on Thursday to brief political parties over ‘Operation Sindoor', in which Indian armed forces struck nine terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7. India carried out the strikes in a calibrated and non-escalatory manner. The strikes were conducted two weeks after the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 26 lives. India targeted strongholds of Pakistan-based terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.
As tensions between India and Pakistan rise after the 'Operation Sindoor' conducted in early hours of Wednesday, flight operations across the country have been severely affected for the next few days. The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport of Delhi was also affected as military tensions led to restrictions over airspace.
At least three border states, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat have been put on a high-alert. In these locations public events have been cancelled and educational institutions shut. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force is also maintaining a heightened state of readiness.
