A horrifying act of a woman drowning her four-year-old nephew in Ganga river in Haridwar was caught on camera on Wednesday. The shocking incident which took place in the presence of both the parents of the child, left him dead. The boy, identified as Ravi was reportedly suffering from terminal-stage blood cancer. After disappointments with the treatment, the family had come to Haridwar from Delhi on the advice of a Baba, who had suggested a 'five-minute' dip as a solution to the boy's ailment.
The aunt, identified as Sudha Saini was arrested by Haridwar Police on the charges of murder. Sudha brought Ravi to Har Ki Pauri ghat along the Ganga river on Wednesday afternoon, hoping a prolonged dip would cure his blood cancer. She had him immersed in the river for around five minutes. Observers noticed and rescued the boy from the river, but unfortunately, he had already passed away by the time of rescue.
The video showed Sudha with two other people drowning the child, while people yelling and urging her to let go of the child could be seen. However, after a few minutes, a few people intervened and took the boy out of the river. Later, the police reached the spot and apprehended all the three accused. The boy who was taken to a nearby hospital, was declared dead on arrival.
