Mira Road Violence: The Mumbai administration took stern action against the perpetrators of yesterday's violent clashes in the Mira Road area of the city. The illegal constructions of the accused were demolished as part of the police action.
This comes a day after a clash broke out between two groups over a rally which was organised to mark the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. Local police, Mumbai Police, Palghar Police, Thane Rural Police, RAF (Rapid Action Force), MSF (Maharashtra Security Force) and SRPF were deployed in the area on Monday.
Earlier today, Mumbai Police arrested a man who was seen provoking the crowd. The man identified as Abu Shaikh could be seen inciting people to attack the Ram Mandir procession.
