Earlier, the Congress had announced 32 candidates on Friday, including former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, state party chief Udai Bhan from Hodal and wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Julana. The party also confirmed the renomination of all its 28 sitting MLAs, including Balbir Singh, the incumbent from Israna, which is reserved for Scheduled Castes.
The Congress is in talks with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over a possible alliance, though internal disagreements remain. The elections for the Haryana Assembly are scheduled for October 5, with results expected on October 8.
