CM Urban Housing Scheme: The Haryana government has announced an initiative aimed at providing permanent housing for the state’s urban poor. Under the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme, families classified as Below Poverty Line (BPL) will receive a 30-yard plot of land, while additional financial support of up to Rs 2.5 lakh will be available through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to help them build their homes. This scheme is expected to benefit thousands of families in need.
The deadline for online applications has been set for April 30. Interested families can secure a plot by making a nominal deposit of just Rs 10,000. This initiative targets families with an annual income of Rs 1.8 lakh or less, who are also registered on the BPL list. By providing residential plots in urban areas, the scheme aims to help families escape the challenges of living in slums or rental accommodations.

In the first phase of this initiative, the Haryana government plans to develop a total of 15,696 plots across 16 districts, including Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri, Sirsa, Fatehabad and others. The plots will be allocated to eligible families on sites developed by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HSVP).

The application process is entirely online and can be accessed through the portal at www.hfa.haryana.gov.in. To book a plot, applicants only need to pay Rs 10,000 online, with the remaining amount payable in instalments. Maps showing the location of all available plots are also accessible on the website, ensuring that applicants can easily view their options. A user-friendly payment gateway has been established to ensure that economically weaker families face no difficulties during the application process.

The scheme prioritises nomadic tribes and other specially deprived communities. The government aims to provide a permanent residence for families lacking stable housing, helping them integrate into mainstream society.

The financial support is designed to empower beneficiaries to build their homes without incurring significant loans, allowing for effective use of government assistance.
