Haryana MSP News: In a major relief to the farmers, the Haryana government announced a decision to buy all crops in the state at the minimum support price (MSP) as stipulated by the centre. Declaring the state cabinet decision on MSP, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday asked the state governments of Punjab, Karnataka and Himachal to follow suit.
Announcing a slurry of decisions on Sunday in Kurukshetra, Saini informed that earlier the state government used to buy only 14 crops at MSP but now 10 more crops were added to the kitty, effectively taking the total crops to 24.
"...I want to ask the Punjab government if they will buy crops from their farmers on MSP (Minimum Support Price). I want to tell Congress with governments in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka that they should buy crops on MSP in their states. There is no point in just talking. In Haryana, we have decided to buy all crops on MSP in the state," Haryana CM Nayab Saini said on Sunday.

Rs 137 crore will be given in a week for the damage caused to crops due to natural calamities before 2023. It was announced on June 27 that tube well connections will be given to all the farmers who apply by December 31, 2023.
Earlier the state government on July 19 declared that the requirement for solar energy on tubewells was eliminated for instances where old tubewells need to be re-bored at a different location due to malfunction. Additionally, farmers who have transformers installed by electricity corporations will have those transformers replaced at no cost to them if they break down. The electricity corporations will bear the expenses, ensuring that farmers are not charged for the replacements.
Farmers will receive an annual benefit of 54 crores. Additionally, regarding the installation of new tubewells, only ten companies were previously approved for 3-star motors, but now motors from any company with a 3-star rating are permissible. Furthermore, it has been declared that the pending compensation of Rs 137 crore for farmers in Nuh, Fatehabad, and Rohtak will be disbursed.
The Government of India establishes the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 22 specified agricultural crops based on recommendations from the Commission for Agricultural Costs & Prices (CACP), along with input from State Governments and relevant Central Ministries and Departments.
