Nine-month-old twin girls were allegedly smothered by a pillow by their mother in Haryana's Danoda village, reported PTI. A murder case has been filed at Sadar police station against the accused and she has been taken into custody.
Identified as Sheetal, the mother confessed to her crime 13 days after the incident, following which her husband filed a complaint.
According to the complaint filed b the father, he had gone to work in the fields on July 12, when the incident took place. As soon as he came back, he saw a large number of people standing outside his home. After he went inside, his wife, Sheetal told him that his daughters were no more.
Believing Sheetal's words, the family buried the girls without conducting a post-mortem. According to the police, the bodies will now be taken out for post-mortem.
In another separate incident that took place recently, a woman was arrested for killing her daughter following her (mother) illicit relationship in Telangana's Kushaiguda. Both the mother and her lover were taken into police custody following the incident.
The woman, identified as Rajaboyna Kalyani, was staying at her mother's house along with her daughter following disputes in her marriage. She met Indla Naveen Kumar when she visited her native village.
When she proposed to him for marriage, the latter refused saying that she had a daughter. It was then that the accused decided to kill her daughter.
Another incident took place in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad, where a man killed his five-year-old son and then hung himself from a tree after facing monetary losses.

According to the official, the 38-year-old attacked his wife Maana, 30, daughter Aashi, 11, and son Osin with a sharp-edged weapon, while they were sleeping at nearly 3.00 am. Dinesh's sister managed to get the door to the house opened when she heard the ruckus.
Dinesh left the area as soon as the door was unlocked, he later hung himself from a tree outside of the settlement.
