Indus Water Treaty Row: Ministry Of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Thursday reiterated India's stand on ties with Pakistan, saying the terrorism and talks cannot go together. Jaiswal quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement - 'terror and talks cannot go together' while speaking on the Indus Water Treaty.
What Has MEA Said On The Future Of The Indus Water Treaty?
As far as the Indus Water Treaty is concerned, it will remain in abeyance till the time Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support to cross-border terrorism, the spokesperson reiterated.

Just like PM Narendra Modi says, terror and talks cannot go together, terror and trade cannot go together, and water and blood cannot flow together."
"As far as our engagement with Pakistan is concerned, our stand has been clear. Any engagement has to be bilateral. We would like to reiterate that terrorism and talks cannot go together," he said while addressing a press conference in New Delhi.
Jaiswal asserted Pakistan needs to hand over to India, noted terrorists, whose records and list we submitted to them some years ago.
"Talks on Jammu and Kashmir will be held only on the vacating of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and when Pakistan hands over the territory to us," he added.
If There Is Any Attack, Enemy Will Have To Pay Bigger Price: PM
Meanwhile, PM Modi on Thursday said the Operation Sindoor, through which the Indian Armed Forces crushed several terror bases in Pakistan and the PoK, has not ended as yet.
"The people of West Bengal were fuming when the terror attack on the tourists took place at Pahalgam on April 22. Those responsible for the Pahalgam massacre have been made aware of the power of 'Sindoor' by the Indian Armed Forces. Pakistan could never imagine that," PM Modi said.
"I want to clearly say that Operation Sindoor has not ended as yet. Thrice we hit them on their soil. If there is any attack in the future, the enemies will have to pay a bigger price," the prime minister said while addressing a rally organised by the West Bengal unit of the BJP at Alipurduar district in West Bengal.
