New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The Army on Monday said that it has credible information that terrorists can carry out attacks in South India.
The Army further said that they have recovered abandoned boats from Sir Creek.
“We have inputs that there may be a terrorist attack in the southern part of India. Some abandoned boats have been recovered from Sir Creek. We're taking precautions to ensure that designs of inimical elements and terrorists are stalled,” news agency ANI quoted Lt Gen SK Saini, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Southern Command as saying.

An alert has also been issued by police in Kerala after the army issued a warning.
"An alert has been issued to all districts of the state, following the Army's warning of a terror attack. Police across the state have been directed to maintain vigil at public places," said Loknath Behera, Kerala Director General of Police (DGP)

Earlier, the Indian Navy had said that it is on high alert and prepared to defeat and deter any seaborne threat with full force.
Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff Murlidhar Pawar said that coastal security measures have been stepped up and forces are keeping a tight vigil to thwart any misadventure by anyone.
"Navy is on high alert...we are prepared to defeat, deter everyone of them (state-sponsored terrorists). Any misadventure by anyone will be met with all the force, " Pawar told reporters on the sidelines of an event.
According to sources, Pakistan-based terror groups have been training their cadre for underwater strikes, including 'Samundari Jihad'.
