Hazira Port Attack News: Press Information Bureau through an X post clarified that the widely circulated video of the explosion at the Hazira port in Gujarat’s Surat, with the claim of an attack on the port, is fake. The fact-check handle of Press Information Bureau, @PIBFack, in an X post said that the video, which is widely being shared on social media, is of a tanker explosion and dates back to May 7, 2021.
The PIB urged people not to share the video to prevent fake news and its repercussions. The Bureau stated, “This video is widely circulating on social media with a claim that Hazira Port in Gujarat has been attacked. This is an unrelated video confirmed to depict an oil tanker explosion. The video is dated July 7, 2021. Do not share this video.”
News agency ANI also shared the PIB’s X post to amplify the fact check and prevent unpleasant repercussions of fake news.

The video, which gained traction on social media after being reposted by several unauthenticated accounts, falsely claimed that Hazira Port in Gujarat had been attacked. The Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) fact fact-checking team promptly flagged the misleading content, which is actively monitoring online narratives related to the conflict.
Amid escalating tension between India and Pakistan and Pakistan’s attempts to attack India, various unconfirmed news is being shared and circulated, the information about the attack on Hazira port is one among them.
The ties between India and Pakistan have worsened since the Pahalgam terror attack, which took place on April 22, killing as many as 26 people, including 25 Indians and one foreigner. India launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7, targeting nine terror hideouts to avenge the killing in a deadly attack in Baisarna Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a joint operation, the India Army and Air Force targeted the strongholds of two of Pakistan’s most notorious terror groups: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
In the latest development, the tension escalated on the Line of Control (LoC) and International Borders (IB) after the Indian Army successfully thwarted a massive swarm drone attack launched by Pakistan. More than 50 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted and neutralised during a large-scale counter-drone operation conducted by Indian Army Air Defence units in the areas of Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot.
