Weather Update: The northern and western states witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Tuesday, providing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a high alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in several states today, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi-NCR. The residents of these states have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rain.
Rain To Continue In Delhi-NCR
Delhi and other nearby cities, including Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, are likely to witness more rain, accompanied by winds blowing at a speed of 70 to 80 kmph on Wednesday. The continuous rainfall is likely to bring down the maximum temperature to 29 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature to 27 degrees Celsius.
Rain Expected In Bihar, UP
As per the weather department, several regions of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness moderate to heavy rain in the coming days. It stated that several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Mathura, Jhansi, Varanasi, and Ayodhya, are expected to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms at least till July 10.

Apart from this, several regions of Bihar such as Patna, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Champaran, Gaya, and Purnia are set to receive moderate to heavy rainfall. The farmers have been advised to protect their crops and not hide beneath any big tree or electricity pole during the rain activities.
The weather department stated that monsoon rains are likely to continue in other states, including West Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Kerala. The northeastern states such as Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are set to receive more rain in the coming days.
Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in the coastal and interior areas of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The fishermen of these regions have been advised to stay updated and limit their financial activities for the next few days.
