Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM leader Hemant Soren addressed the State Assembly ahead of the scheduled Floor Test for CM Champai Soren's government. Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha has convened for the crucial trust vote in the 81-member assembly seats. Jailed Hemant Soren was brought by ED officials to the assembly following the court’s permission.

Hemant Soren highlighted his arrest on January 31, which he described as a first-time occurrence in the country. He suggested the possible involvement of Raj Bhavan in the incident.

‘On the night of January 31, for the first time in the country, a CM was arrested...and I believe that Raj Bhavan was also involved in this incident," he said.

Asserting his stance, Soren asserted his party has not conceded defeat. He recalled the historical significance of Jharkhand and the sacrifices made by its people.

"We have not yet accepted defeat. If they think they can succeed by putting me behind bars, this is Jharkhand where many people have laid down their lives," he added.

Addressing allegations against him, Soren confronted accusations related to an 8.5-acre land scam. He challenged authorities to produce documents proving land registration in his name, affirming that if such proof surfaces, he will voluntarily withdraw from politics.

"Today I have been arrested on charges of 8.5-acre land scam. If they have the courage, then show the documents of the land registered in my name. If it is proved, I will quit politics," former CM said.

"Main aansu nahi bahaunga, aansu waqt ke liye rakhuga, aap logo ke liye aadivasiyon ke aansu ka koi matlab nahi..."

Hemant Soren further attacked the BJP for not allowing any tribal CM to complete a five-year tenure.

Supporting his predecessor, the new Jharkhand CM Champai Soren said “I proudly say that I am part-2 of Hemant Soren."
