The cause of the flood is said to be a cloudburst in the hills of Shrikhand Mahadev, due to which the water level in Kurpan Khad significantly surged and the officials had to evacuate the Bagipul market area. The administration has sent rescue teams to the spot for relief and rescue work.
Earlier last year, a cloudburst caused heavy loss of life and property in Kullu's Bagipul and Samej areas. The officials had confirmed that a total of nine people were swept away in Bagipul, out of which three bodies were found while six are still missing.
