Jagran Correspondent, Una | A young girl aged around 7-10 years old was attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Himachal Pradesh's Una. People are in panic after the dog attack in the Una market. Stray dogs attacked the girl while she was walking towards the market near her home.

Outrage On Social Media

The incident was caught on CCTV. A video of the incident went viral on social media, drawing people's attention to the dog menace. In the viral video, stray dogs are seen severely mauling the girl for approximately 42 seconds. The video shows that the girl was alone in the lane and suddenly, around a half-dozen dogs surrounded her. When she attempted to run, they attacked her.

After hearing her screaming for help, residents then came out of their homes and managed to rescue the girl from the dogs' clutches. The victim was subsequently rushed to the hospital.

The girl, injured in the attack by the stray dogs, suffered severe injuries. Locals took the girl to Regional Hospital, Una, for treatment.

Currently, an atmosphere of panic prevails in the city following the dog attack. Intellectuals and residents of Neelaghat submitted a signed complaint to the district administration, urging them to capture and control stray dogs.

Woman Files Complaint With UNA DC

Rani Devi, wife of Gopal Krishna, a resident of Neelaghat, Una, also submitted a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner, Una, seeking action on the ever-increasing number of stray dogs. Following the complaint filed by the family, the administration also directed the Municipal Corporation to capture aggressive dogs and push other measures to control canines. The Municipal Corporation officials were also asked to identify the dogs seen in the CCTV footage and remove them from residential areas.
