Himachal Pradesh: Six Police Officials, One Local Killed At Chamba Border After Vehicle Rolls Down Into River

Six police officials of the second IRBn posted at the Chamba Border area in Himachal Pradesh lost their lives in the line of duty. According to the office of the DGP, Himachal Pradesh, the incident took place after the vehicle met with an accident and rolled down the gorge at the Bairgarh-Tissa road in Chamba.

According to the news agency ANI, a local resident named Chandru Ram has also lost his life. Besides, one local resident and three other police personnel are injured and are under treatment.

The office of the DGP, Himachal Pradesh, has announced the names of all the police personnel who lost their lives.

The press note states that, as per preliminary reports, a large boulder from the top hit their vehicle, as a result of which it got disbalanced and dropped down into a deep gorge. The press note added "The entire Police Department prays for peace of the departed souls and also prays that their families have the strength to bear this tragic death."
