The Himachal Pradesh government has announced plans to establish a new cyber city in Waknaghat, Solan district. The cyber city will be developed on 650 bighas of land and will house data storage, artificial intelligence, and other IT-based industries.

CM Directs Detailed Blueprint Preparation

The Chief Minister has directed the Department of Digital Technology and Governance to prepare a detailed blueprint for the project at the earliest. The CM was chairing a high-level meeting of the department and emphasized the importance of the IT sector in the state.
Investment Promotion and Technology Encouragement
 
The Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the state government is considering the IT sector as a major area of focus and is taking effective steps to promote technology and investment in IT infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.

Review Of Excellence Centre At Waknaghat

During the meeting, the CM reviewed the progress of the excellence centre being developed at Waknaghat and directed officials to expedite construction work and establish an artificial intelligence laboratory.

IT Park Construction To Be Completed By December

 
The Chief Minister directed that the construction of IT parks in Chaitdu in Kangra district and Mahali in Shimla district be completed by December. He emphasized the importance of digital services in governance and directed all departments to digitize their operations to provide excellent services to citizens.

Digital Services To Be Made Available At Doorstep

The CM stated that the state government is working towards making services available to people at their doorstep with a single click. He directed all departments to adopt IT-based services and use the e-office system to bring transparency to offices.
Workshop to be Organized for E-File Management
 
The Chief Minister announced that workshops will be organized to make officials and employees proficient in e-file management, enabling them to utilize it effectively in offices.
Nodal Officers to be Appointed for Monitoring
 
The CM directed that nodal officers be appointed in each department to monitor the progress of announcements and ensure timely implementation.
 
 
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister's Principal Advisor (IT and Innovation) Gokul Butel, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, IT Secretary Ashish Singhmar, Director IT Dr. Nipun Jindal, Commissioner Labour and Employment Virendra Sharma, and other senior officials.
