Water level of the Giri River have increased after a cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur on Wednesday. Five family members who went missing following the cloudburst in Sirmaur were discovered buried under debris, officials said on Thursday.

State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) in its bulletin said, "DEOC Sirmour informed that an incident of Cloud Burst occurred at Village Malagi Dadiyat, Aauli, Tehsil Paonta Sahib, District Sirmaur due to this incident, 5 family members of Kuldeep Kamar are missing."

"As per recent information received from DEOC Sirmour, 5 people Kuldeep and his family were buried under debris," it added.

"SDM Paonta Sahib, Tehsildar Paonta Sahib, Naib Tehsildar Paonta Sahib, VRO Ajuali, Police officials and HPPWD department officials are on the spot for handled this situation," an official statement said. 

Speaking about the flood destruction in the state, Himachal Pradesh Revenue Minister, Jagat Singh Negi said that around 800 houses have been fully damaged, and more than 7,500 residences partially destroyed. The restoration process is underway.

He also said that as many as 223 people died, while more than 295 have been injured in the overall rain-related incidents.

"CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is on the field and monitoring all the restoration works that are underway..." Jagat Singh Negi was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
