Himachal Weather Update: As many as 835 roads, including three national highways, remained closed for traffic in Himachal Pradesh following intense snowfall. Heavy snowfall has significantly disrupted connectivity across several districts, leaving commuters stranded and halting the supply of essential goods. While restoration efforts are currently underway, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a fresh western disturbance, which is expected to bring more snowfall and rain to the region on Tuesday, January 27.

In view of the adverse weather conditions, the weather department has urged both local residents and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautions against the extreme cold conditions.

Himachal Pradesh Weather Update

- The Meteorological Department on Monday reported very light snowfall and rain at isolated locations. However, cold wave conditions persisted in Una and Bilaspur.

- The state's lowest temperature was recorded at Tabo village in Lahaul and Spiti district, where it dropped to -10.2 degrees Celsius.

Himachal Pradesh Weather Forecast

- The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy snowfall and rain across Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, with an orange and yellow weather alert in place across several regions.

- An orange alert has been issued for Kullu, Kinnaur, Chamba, and Lahaul and Spiti districts, where a few spells of heavy snowfall and rain are expected.

- The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Shimla, Solan, Kangra, Mandi, Sirmour, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Una, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds up to 60 kilometres per hour, along with cold wave conditions.
