LK Advani Birthday: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran and former deputy prime minister LK Advani on his birthday, hailing him as a "statesman with a towering vision". Advani turned 98 on Saturday, with the BJP leaders lauding his contribution to the progress of the nation.

PM Modi shared a picture with the party veteran on X, with the caption, "Went to Shri LK Advani Ji's residence and greeted him on the occasion of his birthday. His service to our nation is monumental and greatly motivates us all."

Earlier in the morning, he greeted Advani on his birthday on X. Advani, who scripted the BJP's rise as a formidable force in national politics, turned 98 on Saturday. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour, this year.

"Greetings to Shri LK Advani Ji on his birthday. A statesman blessed with towering vision and intellect, Advani Ji's life has been dedicated to strengthening India's progress," PM Modi said.

"He has always embodied the spirit of selfless duty and steadfast principles. His contributions have left an indelible mark on India's democratic and cultural landscape. May he be blessed with good health and a long life," the prime minister added.

BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda also met Advani to wish him on his birthday. "Today, on the birthday of senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Deputy Prime Minister, 'Bharat Ratna' Shri Lal Krishna Advani ji, I visited his residence to extend my best wishes and seek his blessings. Your tireless efforts in the direction of national unity and cultural revival are a unique source of inspiration for all of us, millions of workers. I pray to God that you remain always healthy and blessed with a long life," he wrote on X.
