Holi 2025: As Holi 2025 approaches, many establishments across India, including banks, schools, stock markets, government offices, and liquor shops, will remain closed on March 13 and 14, depending on the state. Authorities have issued directives to ensure smooth celebrations and public safety during the festival of colours. Here’s a complete guide on what will be open and what will remain shut.

Stock Markets to Remain Closed on Holi

Both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed on March 14 for Holi. Additionally, these stock markets will also remain closed on March 31 in observance of Id-Ul-Fitr.

Bank Holidays for Holi 2025

As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, banks will remain closed in multiple states on March 13 and 14.

States where banks will be closed on March 13 & 14:

1. March 13 – Banks in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Kerala (for Attukal Pongala) will remain closed.

2. March 14 – Banks will be shut in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar.

School Closures for Holi

Many states have declared Holi holidays for schools. Here’s the state-wise closure list:

- Delhi – Schools will be closed on March 13 and 14.
- Uttar Pradesh – Schools will remain shut from March 13 to March 16.
- Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh – Schools will be closed for Holi celebrations.

Government Offices Closed in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan government has announced a four-day holiday for Holi. Government offices, banks, and schools will be closed from March 13 (Thursday) to March 16 (Sunday). Since March 15 is a Saturday and March 16 is a Sunday, employees will get an extended holiday break.

Liquor Shops Shut in Noida & Ghaziabad

To maintain law and order during Holi, liquor shops, bars, and alcohol-serving establishments in Noida and Ghaziabad will remain closed. The District Magistrates (DMs) issued orders to prevent incidents of public intoxication and altercations during the festival.

Noida: 564 liquor vends and 155 licensed bars will be shut.

Ghaziabad: 525 liquor shops and 35 licensed bars will be closed.

Authorities have urged residents to celebrate responsibly and avoid public drinking.

Since multiple establishments will be closed, including banks, stock markets, schools, and liquor shops, people should plan their tasks in advance to avoid inconvenience.
