A corporate employee is frustrated within a year of moving from Pune to Bengaluru, even after receiving a 40 per cent salary hike due to numerous issues, including expensive housing, traffic congestion, and food. The story of the employee was shared by one of his friends on the social networking site LinkedIn, who stated that the employee is struggling to deal with the complexities even after receiving a higher salary than Pune.

The post suggested that the employee was earning Rs 18 lakh per annum (LPA) in Pune before accepting the Rs 25 LPA offer in the capital city of Karnataka. However, he shared his frustration with the post's author within a year of shifting to Bengaluru.

"Rents here are exorbitantly high. Landlords are misers, asking for three-four months' of deposit. Traffic is terrible and commuting costs a fortune," the frustrated man stated. When the post author pointed out the good hike that he had received to shift from Pune to Bengaluru, the employee stated that it was hard to survive in Bengaluru even with the additional money.

"What are you saying? 40 per cent increment is a decent hike, you should be saving more money. Why do you want to come back?" the post author asked. "It's peanuts for Bengaluru," the employee replied. The post author further asked the netizens a question: Where would you like to live, in a metro city or in a B town? The post has received mixed reactions from the netizens; while many of them supported the argument, others pointed out that even Pune is getting expensive.

"Not even 25 LPA, 35 LPA, or even 40+ LPA is enough for a city like Bangalore. The number sounds good to say out loud, but that's where it ends. The reality is that this city makes you feel inferior day by day. It makes you curse at least 3-4 people unintentionally. It deteriorates your health year after year. The unimaginable rise in rent, travel costs, and lifestyle expenses turns you into a greedy person-always wanting more just to keep up," one of the users pointed out.

"It's not about package it's depends on your life style how many peoples in Bangalore getting salary package 25lak 5r6laks package working peoples live happily in Bangalore," another one added. The post went viral amid an ongoing comparison among different Indian cities on the basis of several parameters.
