Maharashtra Cyber Police on Monday recorded the statement of comedian Samay Raina in connection with the case registered over the objectionable remarks given by show participants on his YouTube show. Samay Raina, in his statement, has reportedly apologised for the remarks and has promised to be more careful in ensuring that such incidents will not be repeated in the future.
In his statement, the comedian said that whatever was said on the show was not intentional and he will be cautious from next time. "Everything happened in a flow during the show and that he did not intend to say what he said", the sources were quoted as saying by NDTV. He further stated that the controversy has deeply affected his mental health and he knew that whatever happened was wrong.
"He said that his Canada tour did not go well. He apologised and said he knew he was wrong," one of the sources was quoted as saying by NDTV. Raina appeared before the cyber police at its headquarters in Mhape after returning from abroad. The agency had summoned him several times regarding the case and warned him to appear before the panel to avoid any serious step against him.

“Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly,” Samay Raina had posted earlier on Instagram.
A massive controversy erupted when Raina's co-host Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant an improper question on his "India's Got Latent" episode. The netizens stated that there must be a line to define what should not be said and everything cannot be said by stating it as "dark humour".
