THE UTTAR Pradesh government in a major administrative reshuffle appointed IAS Manish Kumar Verma as the new District Magistrate (DM) of Gautam Buddh Nagar. He is a 2011 batch IAS officer who recently served as DM of Jaunpur. The Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government transferred as many as 14 IAS officers late on Monday evening, including district magistrates of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Jaunpur, Sultanpur, Shamli, and Ballia.
Before the appointment of Manish Verma as the new DM, 2007-batch IAS officer Suhas LY had been the DM of the city since the year 2020. Suhas LY has now been appointed as the secretary of the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Uttar Pradesh.
In the major reshuffle by the Yogi government, Anuj Kumar Jha was made DM of Jaunpur, Jasjit Kaur was made DM of Sultanpur, Ravindra Singh was appointed as the DM of Shamli and Ravindra Kumar was made DM of Ballia.

- Manish Kumar Verma is a 2011 batch IAS officer and was serving as the DM of Jaunpur prior to his transfer to Gautam Buddh Nagar.
- Earlier in May 2017, Verma was appointed as ACEO in Noida Authority for 15 days. He was later made the District Magistrate of Kaushambi.
- Manish Kumar Verma completed his graduation in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.
- Verma also served as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) of the Mathura and Pratapgarh districts.
- He is the son-in-law of IPS officer Rajkumar Vishwakarma.
- He cleared his Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam in 2011. He achieved 61st rank in the highly competitive exam.
- Earlier, Verma worked with Deutsche Bank.
