IMD Weather: Severe cold is prevailing across North India, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert for several states for Thursday. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh are currently experiencing cold and dry weather conditions, with fog and mist in the mornings. A cold wave alert has been issued in some areas in these states.
Delhi NCR Weather
Delhi-NCR will experience a cold spell on Thursday, with light to moderate fog/mist expected in the morning. The day will be mostly clear and sunny. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 23-24 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature will be around 8-10 degrees Celsius.
Fog To Prevail In THESE States
Dense fog is expected in some eastern parts of India. Severe cold conditions prevailed in Haryana and Punjab, with Adampur in Punjab recording a minimum temperature of 2.8 degrees Celsius.
IMD has issued a warning that cold wave conditions will persist in these areas for the next two days. Partly cloudy and foggy skies are expected in Rajasthan in the morning, with light winds. Fog is likely in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Kashmir And Himachal Pradesh Weather
Minimum temperatures in these hilly areas are below 5 degrees Celsius, and many higher elevations have recently experienced snowfall, bringing cold winds into the plains. The weather will remain cold, with frost expected in some areas. Temperatures have dropped below 10 degrees Celsius in many parts of Madhya Pradesh. IMD has issued a cold wave alert for the next two days.
South India Weather
During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain occurred over coastal Tamil Nadu. During the next 24 hours, light rain with isolated moderate rain is possible over Tamil Nadu and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light rain is also possible over interior Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. Dense fog may occur over parts of Northeast India.
