Who Is Uday Bhanu?

Uday Bhanu Chib serves as the current National President of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC). He was appointed to the role by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge succeeding BV Srinivas on September 22, 2024.

The Congress opposed the decision with the senior leader Bhupesh Baghel calling the government 'dictatorial'.

"This is a matter of shame that they have a problem with someone staging a protest peacefully. The dictator will put those in jail who show him the mirror. Have all the terrorists behind the Pulwama, Pahalgam attack, Red Fort blast been arrested. You are not able to arrest those behind the terrorist attacks, but get scared if someone removes their shirt. This is the reality of the government," Congress leader Pawan Khera told ANI.

'Shirtless Protest'

A group of India Youth Congress (IYC) leaders took centre stage after holding a 'shirtless protest' at Bharat Mandapam, the venue for the AI Impact Summit 2026, prompting Delhi Police to file an FIR and detain them. In a statement, the Indian Youth Congress said its workers were protesting against a "compromised Prime Minister" who has traded the identity of the country at the Al Summit.
