Pahalgam Terror Attack: The Government of India has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including prominent outlets like Dawn News and Geo News. This decision follows recommendations from the Ministry of Home Affairs and comes in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals.

India Bans 16 Pakistani YouTube Channels

According to ANI, these channels, with a combined subscriber base of around 63 million, were accused of circulating provocative, communally sensitive content and spreading misinformation targeting India, its Army, and security forces. Authorities said the decision was necessary to prevent the spread of false narratives that could disrupt communal harmony and threaten national security.

Pahalgam Terror Attack

The ban comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the attack at Baisaran meadow, near Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination. The incident is regarded as one of the most severe terror attack in the region since the 2019 Pulwama attack, where 40 CRPF personnel were killed.
