India will conduct large-scale air exercises along the International Border (IB) with Pakistan on May 7 and 8, sources told ANI. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued, indicating that the drills will take place near the western frontier, primarily over Rajasthan under the South Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force.

A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued, focusing mainly on regions near the western border, particularly in Rajasthan, which falls under the South Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force.

The International Border spans approximately 2,400 km from Gujarat to Akhnoor in Jammu. As per the NOTAM, the exercises will begin at 9:30 PM on May 7 and will last for 5.5 hours. During this window, flight operations in the affected areas will be temporarily halted.

This development comes amid repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces, particularly along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. Unprovoked firing across multiple sectors has led to strong and calibrated responses from the Indian Army.

Tensions between the two nations have escalated since the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead. The recent wave of cross-border aggression further weakens the February 2021 ceasefire agreement, now widely regarded as ineffective due to Pakistan’s frequent violations along the 740-km LoC.
