Rajasthan Mock Drill On May 7: Rajasthan is set to conduct a large-scale mock drill across 28 cities on May 7 to prepare for war-like emergencies, following directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs. This statewide drill, the first of its scale since the 1971 Indo-Pak war, aims to enhance civil defence readiness among both citizens and authorities.

Jaipur will play a key role in the exercise, with sirens scheduled to sound at eight major locations across the city. A complete blackout drill will also be conducted, simulating emergency wartime conditions. Citizens will be trained on how to respond when sirens are activated and how to behave during blackout scenarios.

District administration, Civil Defence teams, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been placed on high alert. Officials have instructed that no lights—whether from inverters, mobile flashlights, or even candles—should be used during the blackout rehearsal.
