Over the past week, India has seen a string of tragic incidents across multiple states. In Telangana, a severe road accident on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway claimed at least 20 lives when a TSRTC bus collided with another vehicle. Chhattisgarh witnessed a collision between a passenger train and a goods train near Bilaspur railway station, leaving 11 dead. 

In Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, multiple road accidents caused casualties, while a stampede at a temple led to injuries and chaos among devotees. These events underscore the growing concern over safety, both on public transport and in crowded public spaces, leaving authorities to grapple with prevention measures and swift response efforts.


Here Are 5 Recent Accidents And Tragedies Happened In Past Week  

1. Andhra Pradesh Temple Stampede

On November 1, 2025, a tragic stampede at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, claimed nine lives, eight women and one boy, and injured over 25 devotees. Police said the temple had been constructed by the panda (priest) without the necessary permissions from authorities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from the PMNRF for the families of the deceased and Rs 2,000 for the injured. Police have registered cases under culpable homicide charges.

2. Bilaspur Train Accident

On November 5, officials confirmed that the death toll in Tuesday’s collision between a passenger train and a goods train near Bilaspur railway station in Chhattisgarh has risen to 11. The accident occurred around 4 p.m. when the MEMU train from Gevra rammed into a stationary goods train.

At least 20 people were injured and are being treated at Apollo Hospital and CIMS, Bilaspur. The Railways announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for families of the deceased and Rs 2 lakh for the seriously injured. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also announced Rs 5 lakh for the victims’ families and Rs 50,000 for the injured.

3. Mirzapur Train Accident 

On November 5, six pilgrims were killed after being hit by the Howrah-Kalka Mail while crossing the railway tracks at Chunar station in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur. The victims had arrived for the Kartik Purnima bath and were moving between platforms when the accident occurred. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences and directed immediate relief and medical aid.

4. Telangana Bus Accident 

On Nov 3, a tragic accident occurred around 5 AM on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway, about 60 km from Hyderabad, when a TSRTC bus carrying 70 passengers collided with a gravel-laden truck, killing at least 20 and injuring several others. PM Modi announced Rs 2 lakh for each deceased’s family and Rs 50,000 for the injured from the PMNRF.

5. Jaipur Loha Mandi Accident 

On Nov 3, at least 13 people were killed and several injured when an out-of-control dumper truck rammed into multiple vehicles on Lohamandi Road in Jaipur. Officials said the driver, under the influence of alcohol, got into an argument with a car driver before deliberately hitting the car, then sped off, hitting a scooter and other vehicles. The incident left damaged vehicles and bodies scattered, creating chaos. Authorities confirmed the brakes were functional, and the reckless driving was triggered by the altercation.
