This was the third attack in two days in Rajouri. Earlier on Tuesday, the Army foiled another infiltration attempt by terrorists in the Battal sector. During the exchange of fire, a soldier was injured and later succumbed to his injuries. On Monday, terrorists attacked the house of a Village Defence Guard (VDG) member in the Gundha area of Rajouri.
However, the Army's swift response to the offensive prevented a major loss. Parshottam Kumar, recently awarded the Shaurya Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu, was the target of the attack. His uncle, Vijay Kumar, was injured, and a cow was killed in the gunfire.
