An Indian student was found dead in the US state of Ohio’s Cincinnati on Thursday, making it the third such incident within a week. While the cause of death is yet unknown, the incident has raised concern for the students studying in the US.

In another separate incident, an Indian student was killed with repeated blows from a hammer by a homeless man, inside a store in Lithonia in the United States. A video of the incident went viral on social media.

The accused was seen viciously hitting Saini's head and face with the hammer around fifty times. He continued hitting his body on the floor. The incident took place on January 16, when the 25-year-old denied to Julian Faulkner - a homeless drug addict, free food.

In another incident, an Indian student named Neel Acharya, who was studying at the prestigious Purdue University, was found dead. He went missing on Sunday and the reason for the death is yet not ascertained.

According to the Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office, officials were called around 11:30 am. Sunday to 500 Allison Road in West Lafayette for a possible dead body. Upon arrival, a "college-aged male" was found deceased on Purdue's campus.

The Consulate General of India in Chicago replied to her post on X, saying, "Consulate is in touch with Purdue University authorities and also with Neel's family. The consulate will extend all possible support and help."

According to Purdue Exponent, a multimedia agency independent of the university, in an email written to the university's computer science department on Monday, interim CS head Chris Clifton confirmed students and faculty of Neel Acharya's death.
