Indian Railways has launched its most advanced safety system, Kavach 4.0, on the Mathura-Kota stretch on Delhi-Mumbai corridor. According to Mint, this is the first implementation of the new version and will play a big role in enhancing train safety.

All About Kavach 4.0

Kavach is an Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system that is made in India under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.

It works on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags. The setup includes telecom towers with optical fibre lines which allows data exchange between trains and stations.

The system will allow loco pilots to navigate even in poor visibility conditions like fog. All important information will be available inside the train’s cabin dashboard.
