In an unfortunate incident, eight personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) were injured on Saturday in Pakistani forces' ceasefire violation in Jammu and Kashmir's RS Pura region, the officials said.

The incident is reported to have taken place along the international borders. The injured BSF personnel were rushed to the nearby hospital and were undergoing treatment. BSF, which is the first line of defence, is tasked to guard the over 2,000 kms long India-Pakistan IB.

Meanwhile, news agency PTI, based on the government sources, has said that India has decided any future act of terror will be considered an act of war against country and will be responded accordingly.

The tensions between both countries have risen in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack in which Pakistan-backed terrorists, associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF), killed 26 civilians, including a Nepali citizen.

India, acting against Pakistan, held the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) in abeyance and revoked all short-term visas, except diplomatic ones.

In response, Pakistan also held all bilateral agreements in abeyance. This also included the 1972 Simla agreement. Since the suspension of the agreement, Pakistani forces have started ceasefire violations on a daily basis. Indian has also continued to give proportionate and adequate response.

The ceasefire violations were intensified by Pakistan after Indian forces conducted Operation Sindoor in which hideouts, headquarters, and launchpads of terrorist organisations like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were destroyed at nine locations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan's Punjab.

In the indiscriminate firing, over a dozen civilians living in border villages have lost their lives. Earlier on Saturday morning, Rajouri ADC Raj Kumar Thapa and his two staff members were injured in Pakistan's shelling. Later, Thapa succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in the hospital. The other injured were also reported to be in critical condition.
