IndiGo made the statement as airspace restrictions continue to affect a number of airports in northern and western India in the wake of India's missile strikes in Pakistan as part of Operation Sindoor.
According to a Times of India report, 27 airports in northern, western, and central India will not be open for commercial operations till 5:29 AM on Saturday, May 10.
Air travel has been severely disrupted by the closures. Indian Airlines canceled over 430 flights, or about 3% of all planned flights in the nation on Thursday.
The international flight tracking website Flightradar24 reports that there were no civilian aircraft operating in the airspace above Pakistan and the western Indian corridor, which runs from Kashmir to Gujarat, on Thursday.
“Airspace over Pakistan and the western shoulder of India between Kashmir and Gujarat was free of civilian air traffic as airlines shunned the sensitive zone,” the platform stated, referring to live flight data and cancellation numbers.
