IndiGo Flight Cancellations: Flight operations at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru continued to face significant disruption on Monday, with IndiGo cancelling a total of 127 flights, comprising 65 arrivals and 62 departures. The airline stated that these cancellations are a part of a broader effort to stabilise its nationwide operations, which have been in crisis for the past week, primarily triggered by problems with pilot rostering and crew shortages.

Airport authorities at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) have advised passengers to check their flight status before travelling to the airport to avoid inconvenience. Authorities further stated that a fresh operational update regarding the ongoing flight disruptions will be issued after 6 PM, Times Now reported.

What Led To IndiGo's Nationwide Flight Disruptions?

IndiGo has attributed the ongoing operational crisis to the recent implementation of Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms, which govern pilot rest and flying hours. However, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) temporarily relaxed the rules to help ease the crisis.

Over the past week, thousands of passengers across the country were stranded at major airports, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru. IndiGo has acknowledged the severity of disruption, stating that operations will take time to fully normalise. The airline has set a target for stabilisation to be achieved by December 10.

Authorities have advised passengers to verify their flight details in real-time before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience. Affected passengers already at the airport are encouraged to approach the IndiGo helpdesk for assistance with rebooking, refunds, or other travel arrangements.
