IndiGo Flight Cancellation: Passengers continue to grapple with significant disruptions as IndiGo’s flight cancellations and delays stretch into a second week. Operations remain far from normal, with Monday marking the seventh consecutive day of an unparalleled aviation crisis.
More than 300 flights were cancelled across major cities today. According to airport officials, Delhi reported 134 cancellations, Bengaluru logged 127, and Chennai saw 71 flights scrapped.

Delhi Airport has also issued an advisory, cautioning travellers that IndiGo flights may still experience disruptions. "IndiGo flights may continue to experience delays. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status with their airline before heading to the airport to avoid any inconvenience."

IndiGo Flights Cancellation Top Updates
1. IndiGo cancelled around 650 flights on Sunday, about 28 percent of its daily 2,300 flights, and rescheduled many others amid ongoing operational issues.
2. Since Tuesday last week, the airline has cancelled over 2,000 flights nationwide, causing widespread delays and difficulties for thousands of passengers.
3. The airline said on Sunday that it expects operations to stabilise by December 10, earlier than its previous estimate of December 10-15.
4. Refunds totalling Rs 610 crore have been processed, and around 3,000 pieces of baggage have been delivered to passengers, according to the civil aviation ministry.
5. Sunday was the ministry’s deadline for IndiGo to complete passenger refunds.
6. IndiGo requested more time to reply to a DGCA show-cause notice, seeking an extension until 6 pm on December 8.
7. The DGCA later granted a one-time 24-hour extension to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers and Accountable Manager Isidro Porqueras to submit their responses, now due by 6 pm on Monday.
8. The regulator stated that the main cause of the crisis was IndiGo’s failure to make adequate arrangements to meet staffing, duty-time, and rostering requirements under the revised Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) rules.
9. The Civil Aviation Ministry has capped airfares, ordered faster refunds, and initiated a high-level probe into the disruptions, with the minister noting the airline was responsible for preparing for the pilot duty changes announced a year earlier.
10. IndiGo says it is reviewing the underlying causes, which it attributes to a combination of factors, including an acute shortage of cockpit crew after full implementation of the new FDTL rules.
