An IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Delhi was forced to abort takeoff at Lucknow airport due to a technical fault in its engine. The flight, carrying 151 passengers, including former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s wife and Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav, experienced the incident around 11 a.m. on Saturday as it neared the end of the runway. Eyewitnesses and airport officials said the aircraft struggled to become airborne.

The incident occurred around 10:30 am at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. IndiGo flight 6E-2111, carrying 151 passengers, taxied onto the runway when its engines failed to generate sufficient thrust for takeoff. The pilot immediately alerted Air Traffic Control and applied emergency brakes, preventing the aircraft from lifting off.
Suraj Singh, a passenger from Gonda associated with the Samajwadi Party, described the sudden halt on social media, saying it caused panic inside the plane. Crew members reassured passengers and explained the technical issue before the aircraft was taken off the runway. Passengers were later transferred to another Delhi-bound flight, including Dimple Yadav, who was seated in business class. The airline subsequently apologised for the disruption.

The airline confirmed that all safety procedures were followed and that passengers were transported to Delhi without further delay.
