IndiGo Flight Operating Between Delhi And Kuwait Diverted To Ahmedabad After Receiving Bomb-Hijack Threat

An IndiGo flight operating between Delhi and Kuwait was diverted to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad after the crew found a bomb and a hijacking threat written on a tissue paper in the aircraft.

The aircraft landed safely around 6.40 am with 180 passengers on board, an airport official said. According to the airport authorities, the flight was diverted to Ahmedabad as a precautionary measure.

Upon receiving the information regarding the bomb threat, the pilot alerted the Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the aircraft was diverted to Ahmedabad. All passengers were evacuated upon landing. Security personnel and airport staff are then carrying out a thorough search operation inside the aircraft.

So far, no suspicious material has been found inside the aircraft in the initial checks conducted by the police, bomb disposal squads and dog squads. The flight is expected to depart from Ahmedabad to Delhi shortly after receiving final clearance.

The incident comes amid a period of heightened security vigilance for Indian carriers following several recent hoax threats across the country's aviation network. Security agencies and local police have initiated an investigation to identify the origin of the note.

Kuwait-Hyderabad Flight Diverted To Mumbai

In a separate incident, an IndiGo flight operating between Kuwait and Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai after receiving a bomb threat on December 2, 2025. The threat was received in an email, in which the sender claimed that a human bomb was travelling on the aircraft. The email was received at the Hyderabad airport after the authorities issued an alert, reported News18.

The authorities said an emergency landing was made at the Mumbai Airport soon after receiving the threat. A massive search was started soon after the plane made an emergency landing in Mumbai. The plane was stationed in the isolation area of the airport, and engineers and security forces launched a checkup. The passengers were deboarded and asked to wait on the airport premises until the search was completed. However, nothing suspicious was found on the flight.
