IndiGo domestic flight cancellation: IndiGo on Wednesday announced its decision to cancel 165 domestic flights as restrictions were imposed on airspace across several airports in northern India. The IndiGo flights will remain cancelled till early morning of May 10 in wake of 'Operation Sindoor', which was launched by the Indian Army against terror hideouts in Pakistan on Wednesday, May 7.

IndiGo cancelled flights from several domestic airports, including Amritsar, Dharamshala, Chandigarh, Jammu, Leh, Rajkot and Srinagar. These airports have been temporarily shut following the military strikes carried out by the Indian Army in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

In a travel advisory issued on X, the airlines shared links for passengers to check their flight status. It also offered the option to rebook or seek refunds for the cancelled flights. 

"Due to government notification on airspace restrictions, over 165 IndiGo flights from multiple airports (Amritsar, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Gwalior, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Leh, Rajkot, and Srinagar) are cancelled until 0529 hrs. IST of 10 May, 2025," the airline said in a statement. IndiGo operates as many as 2,200 flights per day.

Air India Cancels Flights To And From Nine Airports

Earlier in the day, Air India also cancelled flights to and from nine airports, including Jammu, Srinagar and Amritsar, till early morning of May 10. "Air India flights to and from the following stations, Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot, are being cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on 10 May following a notification from aviation authorities on the closure of these airports," the airline said.

Air India passengers with valid tickets for this period will be eligible for a one-time waiver if they opt for rescheduling their flight. Those opting for cancellation will be able to avail full refund.

Several other airlines have cancelled their flights due to restrictions over airspace following Indian Army's Operation Sindoor in Pakistan.
