Indore Flights To Delhi, Mumbai Cancelled Again; Normal Services Expected After January 26

Indore News: Several flights operating from Indore to Delhi and Mumbai were cancelled at short notice on Friday, leaving many passengers stranded at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport and triggering protests over the repeated disruptions.

Passengers Face Last-Minute Cancellations

Travellers reached the airport expecting to board scheduled flights, only to learn that services had been called off without prior notice. Many passengers complained of inconvenience, especially those with urgent travel plans. Some raised objections with airline staff and lodged complaints at the airport.

Star Air Cancels Newly Launched Services

Star Air cancelled all its flights on the Indore-Mumbai-Gondia sector on Friday. The airline had launched the route barely ten days ago. As per the original schedule, the aircraft was to arrive in Indore from Mumbai in the evening and then continue to Gondia, with a late-night return to Mumbai via Indore.

Passengers said they were informed about the cancellations only after reaching the airport. Airline officials reportedly cited “operational reasons” but did not share specific details. Later, passengers were offered refunds or rebooking options.

Delhi Route Remains Affected

Apart from Star Air, Air India also cancelled four of its flights on the Indore-Delhi route on Friday. These services, which operate in the morning and afternoon, have been cancelled daily since January 21, adding to passenger frustration.

Republic Day Preparations Impact Flights

Airport officials said the disruptions are linked to preparations for the Republic Day air show in Delhi. Due to airspace restrictions related to rehearsals, some flight operations have been temporarily suspended.

Normal Operations Expected From January 27

Officials confirmed that cancellations on the Delhi-Indore route are likely to continue until January 26. Regular flight services are expected to resume from January 27, which should bring relief to affected passengers travelling between Indore, Delhi and Mumbai.
