A national-level shooter accused a conductor on a Pune-bound private bus of inappropriate physical contact in Indore on Tuesday, triggering confusion, panic, and a brief chase-like situation on the city’s roads.
According to the NDTV report, the shooter had travelled to Bhopal for a national championship and was returning home via Indore. She claimed the conductor touched her in an unacceptable manner while checking her ticket and seat somewhere along the route.

The situation escalated when the bus was stopped during a routine night patrol in Rajendra Nagar. The shooter immediately alerted police, voicing her accusation. Panicked, the driver and conductor abandoned the vehicle and ran, leaving passengers stranded in the middle of the night.
Police were then forced to arrange a replacement crew so passengers could continue their journey.
“The bus reached Indore around 1.30 am. After the disturbance, we assisted passengers and deployed an alternative driver and conductor. The woman said she would consult her family and lawyer in Maharashtra before submitting a written complaint,” said Additional DCP (Crime Branch) Rajesh Dandotiya.
No formal complaint has been lodged so far. The journey resumed after roughly a 90-minute delay, around 3.15 am.
In a separate incident, a 47-year-old government bus conductor was arrested on Sunday under the POCSO Act for allegedly sexually harassing a 16-year-old schoolgirl during a bus ride near Orathanadu in Thanjavur district. The girl, a Class XI student, was returning home to Orathanadu after attending an aptitude test in Pattukkottai when the incident occurred.
