IRCTC Tatkal Ticket Booking: As Diwali approaches, the festive spirit in India intensifies, prompting many to return home for the celebrations. Indian Railways plays a crucial role in accommodating this surge by adding extra trains to various destinations. However, finding confirmed tickets can be a challenge during this busy travel period.
For those struggling to secure a seat, the Tatkal ticket scheme offered by Indian Railways presents a viable option. This scheme, specifically designed for last-minute travellers, allows you to book tickets just one day before your journey. It's important to note that the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) for Tatkal tickets has been reduced to one day, meaning you cannot book for the day of departure.
