Suchana Seth, the CEO of the AI start-up Mindful AI Lab, was arrested for the alleged murder of her four-year-old son. The arrest took place in Chitradurga, Karnataka, where she was apprehended by the police while traveling in a taxi with her son's lifeless body concealed in a bag. A court in Mapusa town remanded her in police custody for six days.
The taxi driver, Ray John, who helped the police in Seth's arrest, revealed that she maintained an eerie calmness throughout the more than 10-hour journey from Goa to Karnataka. John recounted that Seth did not utter a single word, except when requesting a bottle of water during a brief stop in Bicholim town.

During the journey, the taxi driver grew suspicious, particularly when faced with a traffic jam at the Chorla ghat section on the Karnataka-Goa border. Despite suggesting an alternative route to the airport, Seth insisted on continuing by road.

“I exaggerated the time and told Madam (Seth) that it would take six hours to clear the road and suggested that we could turn back and head to the airport. But she insisted on continuing by road,” said the driver, stressing that he felt something was off.
The turning point came when the Goa police contacted John and alarmed about Seth. Alerted by the authorities, he strategically delayed the journey, finally stopping at Aiyamangala police station in Chitradurga district. It was there that the police discovered the lifeless body of Seth's son in her bag.
“The Calangute police told me to search for a nearby police station and take her there. I tried searching on Google Maps and GPS but didn't find any. I even looked for cops at toll plazas but there were none,” he said.
“We were one and a half hours away from Bengaluru. I drove to the Aiyamangala police station (in the Chitradurga district of Karnataka), while a Calangute police official remained on line with me on the phone,” he added.
John while recounting the incident said it took almost 15 minutes before the inspector concerned came out. “But madam was calm and was sitting in the car. When police asked her whether it was her son. She calmly said ‘Yes'.”
