Aditya-L1: ISRO chief S Somanath along with his colleagues on Friday visited the famous Chengalamma temple in Andhra Pradesh to seek blessings for the success of the upcoming Aditya-L1 Mission, India's Solar Mission, which is scheduled to be launched on Saturday. Somanath had previously sought blessings here before the Chandrayaan-3 mission launch.

At the temple, the ISRO team received a warm welcome from the temple priests, led by executive officer A Srinivasulu Reddy, who later presented them with the temple's holy offering, known as 'Prasadam.'

During a subsequent media briefing, the ISRO chief announced that the Aditya-L1 mission is set to launch on Saturday at 11.50 a.m. from the Sriharikota spaceport, utilising PSLV C57. The mission's objective is to study the sun's atmosphere during its 125-day journey.

Accompanying the ISRO chief were SDSC-SHAR director A Rajarajan and group director P Gopikrishna. Additionally, a group of ISRO representatives visited the renowned Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala on Friday morning. Inside the hill temple, they carried a replica of the Aditya-L1 spacecraft and conducted special prayers.

The Aditya-L1 mission is designed to study various layers of the Sun, including the photosphere, chromosphere, and the outermost regions known as the corona. This scientific endeavour involves seven meticulously designed payloads equipped with advanced tools such as electromagnetic, particle, and magnetic field detectors.

Days after the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3 on the Lunar surface, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief S Somanath received a grand welcome from the crew of the IndiGo flight. ISRO Chief S. Somanath boarded the Delhi-bound IndiGo flight, and soon after he entered the plane, the crew and the passengers started applauding the ISRO chief. A video of the touching incident is going viral on the internet.
