Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed a gathering at the launch of the book "Hum Aur Yeh Vishwa" written by Manmohan Vaidya, All India Executive Member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Bhopal, MP, on Friday. This was his first public speech after resigning from the post of the Vice President of India.

"I Can't Ignore My Duty For Catching A Flight"

While Dhankhar was speaking, a young man brought a slip of paper with his flight timings written on it. Seeing it, Dhankhar said, "The message has arrived. There's a deadline. I can't neglect my duty because I'm worried about catching a flight." The entire hall erupted in applause for his gesture and commitment. The former Vice President smiled and said, "Friends, my recent past is proof of this." As he said this, the entire auditorium erupted in applause and laughter.

He said, "May God not let anyone get caught in the trap of narrative. I'm not citing my own example. People want to make people victims of a narrative. Individuals can't fight this, but institutions can. The concept of nation has been severely limited."

He said, "If you delve into the book, you will realise how glorious our past was. The book is inspiring for building the future. This book will definitely awaken the sleeping ones. It explains the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam."

Manmohan Vaidya, Dainik Jagran Group Executive Editor Vishnu Tripathi, and Peethadhishwar of Shri Anandam Dham Vrindavan Sadguru Riteshwar Ji Maharaj were present as special guests at the event.

Dhankhar Meets Vice President Radhakrishnan

Earlier, on November 18, Dhankhar met his successor CP Radhakrishnan in New Delhi, his first formal interaction with the incumbent. Dhankhar's sudden resignation had led to an election to the post. Dhankhar, the first occupant of the swanky Vice President's Enclave, met Radhakrishnan this afternoon. This is the first meeting of the two since Radhakrishnan's swearing in as the vice president in September. Dhankhar had last met Radhakrishnan on the latter's swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
