Under the campaign 'Digital Safety for Senior Citizens: Sach Ke Sathi', a seminar was organised on November 15 in Rohini, Delhi. As part of its prestigious DigiKavach programme, Google is conducting this initiative specifically for senior citizens, in collaboration with Dainik Jagran and Vishvas News. These programmes are being held to alert people about online fraud and to make them aware of the ways to avoid such scams.
At the event held on the JIMS College campus in Rohini Sector-5, experts from Vishvas News explained how to stay safe from scams involving AI-generated videos. They also emphasised strengthening Google and social-media passwords. While highlighting the importance of the programme, the trainers advised people to stay vigilant.
Vishvas News Deputy Editor Pallavi Mishra, while speaking about phishing links, said that during the festive season, fraudsters trap people by sending such fake links. Before clicking on links that promise attractive offers, users should check them on the official website. She also advised checking the spelling of the URL. Phishing websites have URLs that look similar to the real ones, but contain mistakes or small differences that can be spotted with careful attention.

Vishvas News Chief Sub Editor Pragya Shukla warned attendees about online fraud carried out in the name of travel bookings. She said scammers create fake websites using the names of well-known hotels or dharamshalas at tourist destinations. She advised making bookings only through official or trusted websites. She added that fraudsters often offer attractive deals or heavy discounts on such fake sites.

The 24x7 Care Foundation also supported the organisation of this programme, in which senior citizens participated enthusiastically. During the session, many attendees shared their unpleasant past experiences as well.
