Google, in collaboration with Dainik Jagran and Vishvas News, is conducting the "Digital Security for Senior Citizens: Sach Ke Sathi" campaign as part of its prestigious "DigiKavach" program.

As an initiative under this program, a seminar was organized for senior citizens in Faridabad on Sunday, November 9. The event was held in partnership with the Golden Age People Senior Citizens Association at the library in Ekta Park, Hospital Block, Sector 8.

Vishvas News trainers emphasized how the increasing dependence on mobile phones is leading to a rise in cybercrime. They noted that many people now sleep with their mobile phones nearby and start their day by checking them. Consequently, crimes related to these scams are escalating year after year. During the seminar, trainers explained various types of scams and shared practical ways to avoid them.

Vishvas News Deputy Editor Pallavi Mishra inaugurated the program, providing detailed information about the initiative and highlighting the serious implications of fake job and investment scams. She pointed out that cybercriminals are specifically targeting senior citizens. "For example, fraudsters trap pensioners, obtain their OTPs, and cause them financial loss. Vigilance is essential to avoid these threats."

At the event, Vishvas News Chief Sub-Editor Pragya Shukla alerted attendees about the risks of AI-based frauds. She strongly advised the audience to investigate any suspicious deepfake videos and refrain from making any hasty money transfers. She also recommended that people secure their social media accounts by keeping them private and avoiding the public sharing of photos or videos.

RK Sharma, President of the Golden Age People Senior Citizens Association, commended the program, calling it a timely measure.
