Jaipur Girl Suicide: In an update in the Jaipur Class 4 girl suicide case, the family members of the deceased have expressed frustration over the sluggish pace of the probe. While talking about the case, the victim's father stated that "no concrete action" was taken by the police even after the committee formed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to probe the incident had already submitted its report. He further stated that the investigation has been slow despite several requests and the seriousness of the matter, leading to the anguish.
Apart from questioning the pace of the probe by police, the victim's father also questioned the approach of the Rajasthan government. He stated that the family members have met several influential figures, including MP Kirori Lal Meena and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, but no solid action has been taken despite an assurance. "All of them assured us that action would be taken, but till today not a single step has been initiated at any level," the victim's father was quoted as saying by ANI.
He claimed that the girl died due to negligence from the school authorities, adding that the CCTV footage shows that she was stressed before taking the harsh step. The family members stated that the incident could have been avoided only if the authorities were more attentive and careful, further demanding a speedy trial to ensure justice.
The CBSE probe panel, in its report, disclosed that the girl had approached the teachers five times in the last 45 minutes of the incident. She was reportedly extremely disturbed by something written on her digital slate by her classmates; however, the teachers did not take the complaint seriously. The committee has issued a show-cause notice to the school while pointing out that the teacher shouted at her rather than taking any action, which probably escalated the situation.
