The mortal remains of Wing Commander Namanshy Syal, who tragically lost his life in the LCA Tejas Crash during the Dubai Air Show, will be brought to his native village of Patiyalkar in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra on Sunday afternoon, where his last rites will be performed. Earlier, the mortal remains of the IAF braveheart were brought to the Sulur Air Base in Coimbatore on Sunday, November 23.

The mortal remains will then be taken to the Gaggal airport at 1 pm on Sunday in a special Air Force aircraft. Namnash Syal's parents, wife and daughter will also accompany the body.

Emirati Defence Force Gave Ceremonial Salute To IAF Braveheart
The mortal remains of the IAF pilot were flown back to India on a special aircraft. The Emirati Defence Force gave him a guard of honour in recognition of his bravery and service. The Indian Air Force confirmed his demise after a Tejas aircraft crashed and burst into flames at the Dubai Air Show 2025 on Friday.
The IAF has meanwhile said that a court of inquiry is being constituted to look into the circumstances that caused the fatal accident.
Grief Among Villagers Of Kangra
Meanwhile, profound grief has surrounded the villagers of Kangra, who have been mourning the demise of their brave son, since the news of the death of Wing Commander Syal surfaced. A resident said that the mortal remains will reach Patiyalkar around 2 PM, post which the last rites will take place.
He said, "He (Wing Commander Namansh Syal) was like our child and was doing a great job in the Air Force. The whole village is mourning. His mortal remains will reach the village at around 2 pm, after which the last rites will be performed. He has an uncle, an aunt and children here. His wife is also in the Air Force and is returning here."

"We have all gathered to pay homage to Wing Commander Namansh Syal. It is very sad," another local resident, Pratap Chand, added.
Childhood friend of Wing Commander Syal, Madan Lal recalled tales from his childhood and mourned the demise of his friend. "He was my nephew. The whole village is mourning and waiting for his mortal remains to arrive. The last rites will be performed today. This is a huge loss for the nation. He had a sharp mind and stood first in school," Lal added.
