Delhi Blast Update: Umar-un-Nabi, the alleged suicide bomber, who was driving an I-20 that exploded near the Red Fort Metro station gate number 1 earlier this month, leaving at least 15 killed, reportedly had ideological differences with the co-accused, Adeel Ahmed Rather. Umar had skipped Adeel’s wedding as they were not on the same page over finances to execute their plan, reported NDTV, quoting sources.
As per the report, Umar believed in the ideology of the terror group ISIS, while others followed Al-Qaeda.
Due to the ideological differences with the co-accused Adeel, who was arrested earlier this year in Jammu and Kashmir, Umar skipped his wedding.
Delhi Blast: Umar Reconciled With Adeel After Ideological Differences
Later, for the sake of their mission, Umar visited Qazigund in Jammu and Kashmir in October to reconcile with Adeel to ensure the successful execution of the plan, the report added.
The Key accused of the Delhi Red Fort Blast, Umar, not just had ideological differences with the co-accused, but there was no consensus about finances and the method of execution among them either.
Umar was handed over Rs 26 lakh for the execution of the plan, but when he asked about the expenditure, Umar did not like it. As per the sources of NDTV, Umar contributed Rs 2 lakh for the mission while Adeel gave Rs 8 lakh.
The Ideological Differences Between ISIS And Al-Qaeda
Although ISIS and Al-Qaeda share ideological roots in Salafism and Jihadism, their work style is significantly different. Core ideologies regarding strategic priorities, the use of violence, their sectarian approach, and the timing and nature of establishing a caliphate are different.
